He is the Professor of Surgery at Jinnah Sindh Medical University and Head of Department Ward-2, Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Karachi, Pakistan.
He has been Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) since 1993, and Fellow of the College of Physician & Surgeon of Pakistan (FCPS) since 1991.
CLINICAL EXPERIENCE:
I have done my basic surgical training at J.P.M.C. Karachi, under supervision of Prof. SAMIE ASHRAF, Prof. MAJEED BALOACH, Prof. MUMTAZ MEHAR, Prof. Capt. RASHEED CHAUDHARY & Dr. AHMED FAWAD, in the capacity of Registrar and Senior Registrar of Surgery.
I have acquired post fellowship training as Clinical Assistant (Honorary Senior Registrar) at Saint Mark’s Colorectal and Intestinal diseases Hospital, England under the supervision of Mr. R.J NICHOLLS and Mr. R.K.S PHILLIPS for six months where I learned recent techniques in the management of colorectal disease.
SPECIAL INTEREST:
I am practicing as a General Surgeon with special interest in Colorectal & Intestinal diseases. I have established a colorectal division in Surgical Ward II J.P.M.C. I have designed a colorectal workshop for training practicing surgeon and surgeon in training. It has been running on yearly basis for last 11 years in which a foreign Master Trainer visited Pakistan for lecture and live demonstration in order to train the surgical community. This repeated teaching activity has reflected an improvement in management of patients having Colorectal Disease.
